I have just purchased a 2015 Mazda 3 GS which uses P205/60R16 tire and wheels. My old vehicle's winter tires and steel wheels are still in my possession and I wonder if its at all possible to safely use them though they are P205/65R15 size?

I checked out various tire size calculators and comparisons, it seems with the larger aspect ratio the 15in tire size is nearly the same as the 16in. It’s only 0.8% smaller diameter and circumference.

Looks good for the tire with added sidewall less rim but almost same overall size as you've calculated so tire should be good... the rim might not bolt on though depending on bolt pattern, width, offset and centre bore. What was the old car?

Test fit them before winter comes.

Make sure the bolt pattern is correct and the hub bore fits.

Also, I am not familiar with the GS trim but in US our 2.5 L cars come with larger front brakes and I don't think 15" will fit.
