[Road Trip]

Is there a way to remove the front bumper's U shaped, grille-surround trim piece without removing the front fascia please? (Search but could not find.). Any one done that to paint the piece? If not, can some please post some schematics that might be helpful? Thank you.

If painting is the intent, I found it is much easier to just tape it off. Took a little time but no disassembly/disassembly involved. I used blue paint tape and newspaper. Be careful to tuck the tape in around the corners and under the light boxes.

Thanks "arathol." You are so right about that being the easier way. And could well be doing exactly what you suggest. But still exploring if there is another option of removing the trim from the front (I do not want to remove the whole front end just to paint this piece.)

There isn't. Bumper removal needed. I wrapped it w/o taking anything off. About as much work as taping off w/o the risk of overspray.

I rely on wrap more than paint or dip. It's more durable than dip & even way easier to reverse. For small experiments, I've even tried painting the color I want on em to retain reversibility. It just needs patience.

I believe the chrome pieces are screwed into the grill, and the only way to access it is by taking off the entire front bumper. The grill cannot be removed without accessing from behind, which again, requires front bumper to be off. Not a fan of this design/engineering.

What wrap would your recommend? I am planning on doing this soon along with the fog light chrome and window chrome. I normally plasti dip things but would like to look into wrapping.

I Re-dipped mine when I got the new grille. Since the bumper was off anyway and I needed to take the chrome pieces off it was an easy re-do. The first time I missed some of the underside and had a little bit too thin of a layer in others due to not being able to get the angles I needed. You can do it but you need to be a bit more meticulous. Blue painters tape slides right under it so taping off is easy.

Looking to vinyl wrap it gloss black sometime in the future. Maybe.
