My 2017 UK Mazda 3 has navigation with TMC traffic updates via FM radio. How reliable and timely do UK members find the TMC traffic updates?
For example, last Sunday I was heading south on the M1 and had a TMC message that the A43 was blocked due to an accident at the M40 junction. I accepted the alternative route via A46 / M40 which was fine. However, there was no mention of an accident on the audio traffic announcements nor on the M1 overhead signs. I suspect the accident had been cleared and the TMC data on the accident was stale and out of date.
Does anyone know how timely the TMC traffic data is and how often it is updated?
