Just got finished installing them. Well written instructions. They work and look great! nice smooth 2 stage action. And no more prop rod. The hood lifts slightly higher than w/ stock proprod Over all I'm very pleased... Just a few notes

1. Buy a GOOD rivet gun!!! My cheap-o rivet gun did not cut it. It would not snap the stem on the heavy duty rivets they provided. Had to snap them off by hand and ended up loosening the bracket on the drive-side a bit but it will still hold. The passenger side I ended up using some lighter duty #2 rivets I had laying around and it worked out great with my shity rivet gun and the bracket is nice and tight.

2. Read the directions a few times before installing!!! Be prepared!!! There are a few items miss-listed on the tool list and the package content list that are not provided or necessary so don't freak- 5/16 drill bit on the tool list is not used in the install, and 2 lock nuts are not provided nor necessary during install.

3. Don't accidentally pop off the sliding lock on the bottom of the gas strut and drop it into the engine compartment! It WILL take hours to find it!!! LOL

very nice. does it have that gas hissing sound when it opens up like when we open up the hatch?
I would assume so, they are a gas strut. I should receive them hopefully toward the end of the week. Just ordered them this afternoon.
Nice! I've been waiting on something like this, thanks for the heads up Jack!

Did you order the standard or the elite? Let us know how the install goes. They don't have the install manual for the 2010+ on the site yet.

On the 1st gens, you need to rivet the top and bottom of each strut to the car. From the pictures on the site it seems like there are only rivets for connecting to the hood. Not sure how it connects to the frame/fender.
I ordered the Elite set. I figured the 4 year warranty an it being stainless steel was worth the $. I'll take some pics and give some install impressions.
$84.95 for the Plus and $119.95 for the Elite

I just received the hood lifts from the FedEx man! Install looks to be pretty straightforward... I'll get to it tonight after I find my rivet gun :(

Shitty poor quality cell phone pic!

Updated first post with some Pictures! :)

Sorry, off topic and maybe stupid question...but what is that blue "plate" on your passanger shock tower and what's it connected to?

Great job BTW! Looks good!
I think it is.. and AFAIK, it's for the 1st gen..
Hood lifts look great...contemplating this now.

If I'm not mistaken, that's a torque damper...works kind of like a reinforced rear motor mount in that it keeps the engine from shifting in the engine bay upon hard acceleration...prevent wheel hop and helps smooth out shifting too..

YES..... and YES

Its a GEN1 Ingalls Stiffy ETD... Fits but needs that bracket needs a few new holes drilled in it or bend over some tabs on the strut tower.
