The good news is the 2014 Mazda3 shouldn't have many rattle or noise issues. It's built so well with very good materials, but there will always be a few that pop up.

In my car there's a slight vibration coming from the dash, but it's very faint. It's not loud enough to annoy, but I know it's there if the music is off. I'm also getting a tick, tick sound from the passenger side, but can't figure out what it is. Most people wouldn't hear what I'm reporting, but I'm very OCD about unintended noises.

If anyone else is experiencing noise issues, please add to the thread. Lastly, the windshield tick sound that plagued the two previous generations has not surfaced with my 2014. Very glad about that!

I hear three things:
- With loud base both front doors vibrate, if you place some pressure on the door it goes away.
- the HUD can rattle sometimes.
- the noise you describe, sounds like it is coming from where the 7" LCD mates with the dash. Sounds like plastic on plastic under tension.

The only thing I hear so far is when I crack the front windows down about an inch or so there'll be a slight rattle sound from the window pane when going over rough roads. Roll it down some more and no more rattle.

well the character from the gen 2 seems to be still intact in gen 3 xD
My previous car, 09 pontiac vibe, does the same thing but worse. When I close the door with the window open it'll sound like the window was going to fall out lol I actually tested this on the mazda3 before I purchased it to make sure it doesn't rattle when I close the door :D

Man, you guys are tough. I don't find Mazdas to be any worse than any other cars I've owned wrt rattles. I've had 4 Mazdas, 4 Fords, 2 Oldsmobiles, 1 Toyota, 1 Volvo, 1 Honda, 2 Dodges, and 1 Austin Healey (which was designed with rattles and noise as a feature. ;-) ). The Mazdas have been as good or better than any of the others. The worst (not counting the Austin Healey) were the Oldsmobiles and the Toyota. Mostly because those had the lowest quality hard plastics that would either crack or shift over time. (I keep my cars for a looong time.) Almost always 8+ years and 100,000+ miles, and I almost never fly anywhere; so, these vehicles see a lot of cross country trips. They are not babied. I'd put the Mazdas up against any other car I've had. (Which probably explains why I keep coming back to them. :) It's gonna be a 5th Mazda after New Years... ;-)

I'm very sensitive to these little creaks and squeaks and it drives me absolutely crazy lol When I got my pontiac vibe back in 08, the car started to rattle all over the place. There would be this rattle in the headliner/sunroof area whenever I'm driving and I get so annoyed that I would punch it while I'm driving. After living with that annoying rattle for almost a year, I finally took it to the dealer and they fixed it lol The dash and door panel on that car was all hard plastic and rattled/squeaked a lot when it's cold. Most rattle I had in a car, drove me crazy.

I've come across another one coming from the driver's side back door. It happens intermittently and is really difficult to find. It's a vibration, not a rattle, but it bugs me as these things always do. The most quiet, rattle free car I ever drove was a 2012 Mazda 6 rental car, and I was hoping I could duplicate that build perfection with the present 3. I still love my car, but little annoyances peck away at my overall satisfaction.

I also have an issue with a vibration noise coming from the dash. This vibration occurs when quickly speeding up and while driving between 40mph - 60mph. I actually find it extremely annoying. Music helps to drown out some of the noise, but I am very disappointed. I have owned both the 2007 and 2010 generation Mazda3 and have never had an issue with rattles/noises. Aside from this, I love the car!

This may not apply to your situation, but I had a faint vibration that sounded like it was coming from the dash or speedometer area. It turned out to be a tube from underneath the driver seat. There's not much under there, but try tapping on the tubing or hardware attached and see if you can replicate it. I just stuck a small cloth between the tube and the bare metal causing the vibration.

I've had 2 noises that drove me crazy since i got the car. The first one was a rattle coming from the steering column, solved by a piece of tape between the adjustment arm to telescope the wheel and the plastic shroud covering the column.

The other noise has yet to be resolved by the dealer. I am almost 100% positive it's the passenger side vent creaking in the dash, it's sort of loose and the sound is what i would describe as a plastic on plastic "rub" creaking sound. If you open your glove box and reach up in you can feel the vents and move them around. I could replicate my sound that way. All the other noises i expected from any car, (road noise, tire noise, some interior noise on big bumps and potholes.) I'm hoping a dampening strip of some sort or tape can cure my problem if the dealer can't figure it out this time. Last time they wrote it off as wind noise from the wiper blades... *facepalm*

Good day
I have 1 rattle, I found that the central speaker on the dashboard is the problem.
When I place my hand on it, no more noise.
Car has 2 weeks old... I admit road in Quebec are close that what we can find in Africa so this can't help. Other them that no other rattle.
cheers

So far my car's been pretty rattle free, most of the time. Only once in a while when I hit a sharp bump or rough road there will be some sort of ticking sound coming from the passenger seat area. Maybe it's airbag or power seat wiring underneath, not sure, I'll have to look into that.

I have one faint rattle that seems to be coming from behind the plastic on the passenger side where the seat belt comes out at the top. Is this something that dealer's will usually address under warranty or is it just tough? I've got 250 miles on the car and its been driving me nuts since I got it.

Wow, thank god this thread exists haha I thought I was the only one with OCD in regards to interior rattles.

The car does have a very solid build, but I've also had a few rattles or vibrations mainly coming from the passenger side. I too have experienced the window vibration when it is lowered a small amount — this goes away when you roll down more. I've heard the doors rattle during particular bass frequencies, but this goes away if a slight pressure is put on the door.

I have two noises that seem to appear inconsistently — could appear when hitting a huge bump or when hitting the slightest road imperfection. It's really a hit or miss. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side seatbelt and/or around the glovebox area.

Interior noises drive me nuts and in my lifetime the only cars I've been in that seem to have the best interior build are lexus (at least the more recent 07+ models). My girlfriend has a '12 IS250 and that thing is incredibly quiet with no rattles or vibrations.

I'm satisfied with the Mazda, but the fact that i'm hearing these noises is kind of a let down :/

Been having this creaking or tapping noise coming from passenger side, maybe door or the B pillar. Don't get it often but feels like it happens when it's cold outside.
