It's a 2015 Mazda 3 hatch.

So, there is a rattle that is present under load at lower RPM. It sounds like it's metal to metal (e.g. loose nut) and location is very hard to pinpoint, sometimes looks like it's from the rear, sometimes from the front. Anyways, I noticed that the rear bumper rings with the similar sound when knocked from behind. So I went and looked what's in there. And what I found is a very unfortunate design choice that leads to collection of small stones in the crevice between the bumper and its lower support. Look at the sketch...

So, I decided to clean the area and fill it with insulation foam to prevent stones from entering there.

I'm not sure if that's the sole source of rattling but it definitely is one.

My problem right now is that it's impossible to clean everything without dissasembling that lower support from the bumper, but the thing is riveted to it and it seems that I'll have to pull out the whole bumper to properly access it. And I'm not a big fan of doing that, because I'm afraid of breaking something in the process...

Has anybody removed the rear bumper yet? Was it problematic?
