Hi,

I just picked up a 2012 Mazda 3 and I was wondering if my Yakima rack will fit on it? Can I use my old Yakima Q-Towers or do I have to upgrade? And if I can use the Q-Towers, what Q-clips do I need? And can you post pics?

Thanks for your help!!!

Yes Q towers work on a Gen 2. I had a setup on mine when I had it.

I suggest you start at http://www.yakima.com to find the clips required for your car. I believe the rear clips are different for hatch vs sedan.

Thank you,
I looked at Yakima but it's just says that if I have fixed points I have to use the Skyline towers. I just want to make sure I can still use Q-Towers before I buy the clips.

Select naked roof for the Q towers. Only select fixed points if you're going to use the fixed points, otherwise they stay plugged and you're equipping a naked roof.

Q-Towers work great! They bolt right into the fixed mounting points on the trim on the roof of your car. I have been happily running these for 3 years on my gen 2 hatch. They work great and tons more stable then a gutter mounted roof rack. You will not be disappointed!
