I have used other decoders and they all show that model year is 2001!!!
Additionally it shows: VIN has invalid check digit (9th character).

My car is produced in 2014. It's Mazda 3 Sedan 2014

What's the deal here?

Does it make any sense?

Dealer pretty much ignored me.

VIN numbers are pretty unique to each manufacturer. Even then, they can vary based off design schemes and model years. So, there isn't a universal way to decode each VIN for every car on the planet.

Here's a link to an older forum thread here, that details how to read the VIN off our cars... http://mazda3revolution.com/forums/2014-mazda-3-skyactiv-discussion/40906-if-you-buying-2014-mazda-3-a-7.html
