Skyactiv 2012 corksport sri, corksport catback, corksport lowering springs, spare tire delete, full tank, 89 octane, weight reduction does help,I was very surprised as maybe a 7.5 would occur, got under the curve. Will post vids soon
I'm too lazy to research this :cheesy: and for the purpose of conversation...are there any real world weight differences between the skyactive 2012 mazda 3 vs the non skyactive that would affect 0-60 times??

If you're concerned about shedding excess weight, next time you do a 0-60 pull wait until your tank is almost empty....gas weighs approximately 7lb./gallon.
Nice! A 7.5s time sounds completely achievable. Motortrend and Car & Driver got 7.8-7.9 for the 2012 Mazda 3 skyactiv MTX running on the stock crappy low rolling resistance Bridgestone Turanza's. Just changing to a stickier tire should shed off a few tenths. With a rim & tire combo that is >6 lbs lighter per corner than stock (~1 hp gain per 1 lb wheel weight loss eg. 6 lbs lighter wheel = effect of 6 hp gained), a proper cold air SRI or CAI, exhaust, and a few other weight reduction mods (10 lbs lost = 1 hp gained), this car could gain 10-15 hp and conceivably attain a 0-60 time that is in the low 7s range. If we had a proper tune, we could likely get into the 6s range...
So much better than my old Protege5 with its 130hp engine, that car was so underpowered but still fun to drive. My 2012 M3 skyactiv manual feels so much more powerful.
