I purchased a CPO 2016 Mazda 3 with 5,500 miles in July. I am currently at 8,000 miles and a light (yellow wrench) came up saying I should take it in for maintenance. With only 2,500 miles added since purchasing it CPO, I am wondering if it is premature to take it in now as the manual says it should be done at 10,000 miles. What should I do? Is it safe to ignore till 10,000 miles or should I take it in now?

Its time for an oil change and/or tire rotation. You can perform both services without the need for the dealer. You can clear the light with the infotainment system. You can set the maintenance reminder light (yellow wrench) to be normal conditions driving or severe conditions driving.

Do you know for sure when the last service was done? If not, contact the dealer that sold you the car and find out if they serviced it and when. It is quite possible that they just didn't reset the indicator.
