For those of you who put in plug in play HID kits into your halogen projector housings, have you noticed any damage to your headlights housings over time? I saw a few reports of this in the DIY forum and wanted to pose the question to the larger group - thanks!

8 months with hid in a 2nd gen. It'll happen to everyone. Only question is when.

I never had any problem with 35w hid kit plus a good quality bulb that has UV protection like Morimoto, not cheap chinese stuff.

I had 6000k 35w DDM HIDs on my 2011 for about 5 years with zero issues. Eventually one of the ballasts went bad. Which is pretty damn good for the price.

I've got a 55w kit "quality chinese stuff" and it's still working fine.
