So, I've been around the internet, various forums and wiki pages, and these are all to mods I'm thinking about doing down the road to my 2007 Mazda 3 Hatch.

Drive train:
Swapping the stock FWD for a Mazda 6 AWD

I already swapped the 2.3L L5-VE for the 2.5L Duratec
I'm curious if the 2.5L will match up with the crank from a 2.3L Ecoboost, if you remove the big gear, to prep it for boost later down the road.
Maybe the heads from a Mazdaspeed 3 for the Direct Injection.
There are forged pistons and connecting rods available from some places, I.E. Eagle Specialty, Cosworth, Manley, ect.

I think i might try to make it myself, so i bought a welder.

I like the way that Konig's wheels look, so I think I'll get those.

I haven't spent a lot of time looking at these, but I want either a Hydraulic Lift System, preferred, or Air bags if i can't figure that out.

Another thing I haven't looked at much, but I'm thinking I might be able to take the Wilwood breaks from a Ford Focus and fab up a bracket for them.

Not really a performance mod, but maybe some fender flairs for fatter tires.

End goal is to make a drift or just all around track car.

Any other ideas you guys want to share?

That will be interesting when you are all done. A 2.5L Turbo charged V6 AWD Mazda 3...

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that Ford Duratec engine cost?
