Performance alignment specs for street?

6616 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  WandererTJ
Anybody have custom alignment specs to share? I'm taking my 3 in for alignment and would like something more performance oriented, my friend suggested -1.5 camber up front and -1.0 camber in the rear? Not sure if this good or not...this alignment should utilize the stock suspension.

I want more response in turn in, etc.

Also what about toe?

Suspension gurus chime in please.

Thanks

*Also I like to run a bit of negative camber so it will drop the car slightly in terms of stance. "More squat and less tippy toe"

Toe wil make your tires wear faster. I recommend keeping the toe close to 0 if ur not gonna be doing races

I heard its toe that kills tire more than camber does?

So toe at 0 or close to it. What do you think about the -1.5 camber? Should I just run that all around?
Unless racing I'd rather not have excessive tire wear. Try a stiffer sway bar or lower the car. Personally I would never ever camber a car that I'd drive on the street.

^ That is for people without camber plates and arms. To actually go fast you'll want more front camber than rear, say like 2.5F/2.0R.

Thanks for the specs and everyone's input.

I think you mean negative camber not positive camber, so,

Front Camber -1.2
Rear Camber -2.3

Positive camber would not be good :)

I just assumed it was negative but positive camber would definitely not be good for handling lol.

Make sure to add a rear sway bar, the rear suspension is much more loose than the front suspension.
Adding it will reduce body roll.

Also, if you get Eibach lowering springs, they list what they did for their allignment:
