So far this has happened twice on my 2014 iSport in the past few weeks.

Normally the Passenger Airbag Off light is on when the seat is empty, and off when my wife occupies the seat. But once in a while the light will stay on with her in the seat. She's heavy enough (150+ lbs) that it should always go out. When it happens, if she unbuckles her seat belt and then re-buckles it, the light goes out after a few seconds.

Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a problem with the weight sensor in the seat? Or a problem with the airbag system? Why does unbuckling and rebuckling the seat belt "fix" it?

I suppose I should call the stealership and have it looked at, but they're an hour away and I work all day.

My 14# dog rides in my passenger seat in. But if I pet or touch him while driving, the extra weight of my hand will set off the seat's alarm. Wish the alarm could be disabled, rather than having to resort to workarounds.
