Depends on the oil you use. If it's mazda oil you should be good up to around 8k if most of your miles are highway. If most of your miles are city then 5k changes. But the first 50-60k its better to do your oil changes earlier at 5k so the wear sets in nice and even so that it should last you 200-300k.

Mazda has done all my oil changes for free, (maintenance for life) came with the purchase of the car. They change it every 7,500 miles using the Mazda oil.

They also rotate the tires and the required services to. All included!

That's at least a 2000 value for me considering I get service every 6-8 weeks.
