Has anyone has any wining issues in one of there door lock actuators? I am getting a whining noise in my passenger front door whenever I unlock the door. Only on that door and only when its unlocked? 2014 Mazda 3 SGT is the car...

My 3 has started making the noise recently in the right rear door. It's starting to become more frequent, I don't think it's at the point where I want the dealer taking the door panel apart. I had a 2014 6 before getting the 3 and both the front doors made the noise from the time I bought it.

It's more of an annoying noise rather than a mechanical issue... but I just rolled over 3k and that noise shouldn't be there IMO... We shall see what the Service manager says about it

The noise should not be there, as it is an indication of a failing door lock actuator. It is a recurring problem with Mazdas, and you should take to the dealer to get it checked out. I just took my 2014 sT with 15k because the driver's door actuator was making that noise, and they are replacing it under warranty.

My car is making the noise but only from the drivers door. I'm also getting a whining noise when I first roll the windows up or down. 2500 miles, very annoying to have problems.

Squeaky lock actuators.
I have em in all 4 doors.

I forgot to see if I could get some white lithium anywhere when i pulled my door panels off.

My 2002 Protege had the issue in the rear doors since nearly new. I ran that car 12 years and 150K miles without the door lock actuators ever failing.

Wife's 2009 Mazda6 has the issue in the rear doors and occasionally each front door and has had the noise(s) since it was nearly new. Running almost 7 years and 60K miles without actuator failure.

My 2015 Mazda3 hatch has the issue cropping up on the driver's door occasionally. It's only nine months old (nearly new in other words). It has 15K. Based on past experience, I'm pretty sure it's just a noise and won't fail.

Is it annoying? Maybe. But is it an indication of impending failure? Not likely.

Think of it as a 'feature.' A very strange somehwat annoying Mazda-only feature. :p

My car started doing this about two months ago (3 moths old :( ). At first I thought a tom cat was meowing somewhere (spring time, who knows). I cannot detect where sound is coming from front driver's door or back door. It happens when I put car in park.

Sounds like this is "normal" since this is happening with so many just on this forum. As long as the door locks continue to work, I don't think this is a warranty issue with Mazda. Every new car is going to have some kind of small bugs and annoying issues that we would like addressed but remember this cars price starts at only 16000. If this is your only issue with the car, you win.

Clearly is not something Mazda has issued a TSB for or any changes made during production. I have a 15 GT (Canadian sGT) hatch and it was likely one of the last 15 GT's to come from Japan and I've started noticing it now that it's winter here. Not all the time and only maybe one or two doors at a time. Based on this thread.. Probably won't make a difference if the dealer replaced it.
