I just bought a 2015 Mazda 3 iSport sedan, and am really happy with it. I do a lot of driving, mostly in town, best guess will be about 20k per year. I'm an old guy, and am used to doing most of my own maintenance so I am watching discussions about routine stuff, but surprised at how little there is. Road noise is also an annoyance so those discussions are a big help.

One question I have is about adjusting valve clearance on the 2.0....there doesn't seem to be a schedule. Is there no need? Modern engines do some amazing stuff but that would be a surprise.

Thanks for a great forum! Lots of terrific info and experience here.

Welcome aboard.

If the manual doesn't mention it, then it's probably not an issue.

Thanks for the responses. Feeling a bit dull for not thinking of hydraulic lifters, but I associate those with big V-8s from the 60s and 70s. One less thing to fiddle with, so that's nice news.
