I'm guessing that's a gen 1. Though I'm not familiar with that model, I am familiar with that area of my gen 2. Having said that, if you can pop that piece of trim off or loose you should be able to easily tell how to remove those. I would guess you unsnap little black clips from the opposite site to release each blank OR the entire button mechanism pulls out from the back of the trim at which point you can unplug anything you need or remove those blanks to replace with whatever you have in mind.
On my gen 2 I remove the fuse box cover to pull that piece of trim out. Hope this helps
