For the life of me I cannot find the option to mute the Navigation. First off, going into Nav settings and lowering the voice guidance volume sucks, I don't want to do that. What I want to do is temporarily mute the guidance and unmute it when I am ready to hear guidance again. The way Google Maps works. I can't find that option. If it isn't there then it's a huge omission.

Note - I don't want to mute all of the audio, I know I can use the command switch for that, but I still want to hear my music... I just want to mute voice guidance.

The volume nob is context sensative. So while nav is talking, turn down the volume. When you are ready to hear, you wait till the left speaker cuts out and then turn the volume back up. Mute may work, not sure, but volume does.

but you are saying that my left speaker will periodically cut out when I reduce the nav volume? This was the similar effect when I lowered guidance volume through the settings and it was annoying/unacceptable as it ruined my music.

I just want the guidance to stop but my music to play normally without cutting out.

I've written to NNG with the same suggestion and they say they have no plans to implement guidance mute.

Guidance Mute

… or at least treat a volume reading of 0 (Zero) as Visual Only (Mute).

For instance, sometimes we want to “shut her up” without cancelling the route you’ve pre-programmed, because we know we’ll probably need some guidance as we get closer to the destination, and as you’ve probably already discovered, just lowering the volume doesn’t eliminate the annoying music interruptions in your headrest speakers (left channel) during each announcement.
