Hey all, just a quick question. With the keyless entry system it seems that if the car is on and I try to open any door except my drivers side, they're locked. I'm only able to unlock them is by going back to the drivers side door and unlocking the car from the inside. It may sound like a stupid gripe but I start my car in the mornings (especially since it's freezing here in Michigan) and like to throw things in the back seat or open the door so my dog is able to jump in. Does anyone know how to change this setting? Thanks in advance!

You have to press the button on the door twice to unlock all the doors. Once for the drivers, twice for all of them.

Yeah I get that in general but from the outside of the car, any pressing of the unlock buttons causes the car to beep 3 times and not unlock. I have to walk around the car to the drivers side every time and unlock the doors from inside of the drivers side door. It does not allow me to use the buttons or fob to unlock. Is it because the fob is usually in my pocket (seeing as I'm coming out to the car as it's already started)?

Ooh I missed that part.

For the most part, all cars disable the key fob after the engine has been turned on ( can only verify with Ford, Toyota, Dodge and Mazda) from the inside. The logic system being the same as a normal key, is that the driver is inside the car and therefore should operate the locks from the inside and turns off the fob radio. ( there are only a limited amount of combinations for the key fobs so there is a possibility that an random Mazda owner could unlock your car if they are within range of the car). The only way to get around it with out reprogramming the system is get an remote start system, where the engine can be started and the key fob can still lock/unlock the car.

The 3 beeps are to let you know the car can no longer see/ sense the smart key.
