A question we all asked at some point! It`s likely what led us to this forum.

The advice I`ll give is to read through the subforums that handle the subjects you are looking for info on. This post is in the engine and performance forum for the 3rd gen 3, for instance. There are threads after threads about all the ways to mod your car, what people have done, what people have seen done, and so on. Get an idea of what has worked for other people, then set on your own path. If you try something and it doesn`t work, post it here! I can nearly guarantee that the questions you have in the beginning have all been asked, and answered here at least once. Read the stickies, read the how-to articles. Soon enough the questions you`ll have will be unique enough to your personal situation that asking it here will benefit all of us.

im also modding my mazda 3, everything is done without cutting a single cable, or modifyng the structure of the care, so in case of i need warranty i can get everything back to normal.

this is the small changes i´ve done.
Fog lamps using hella xtreme yellow bulb
Foglamps with yellow laminx
EZ lip in front.

Audio.
PAC AOEM MA2 > this thing connects to the mazda unit and gives u to RCA cables to hookup an amplifier.
ZX750.1 Amplifier
12 inche sundown subwoofer.
Ported box

Lights
All bulbs are pure white LED sylviania.
front blinker using switchback led, works as DRL white light, and turns yellow when using blinker.

Suspension
H&R springs.

Engine.
im going to wait maybe 1 year to start modify
as you see, its not a lot of equipment but definitly looks differnt than other mazdas.

Nice. Im probably going to get a front strut bar from tanabe. A cold air intake from K&N and maybe some spacers.

I have a 2016 Mazda 3 as well and am gonna start with the cat back exhaust but if you don't want to void warranty on any part of your car your choices might be limited in terms of HP and performance.
I already did a muffler delete. Maybe planning on a K&N intake. And for power... the next stage would be the OVtune. But im almost sure that will void my warranty.

Once you install that K&N intake you're going to need a tune to recalibrate your system and MAF sensors and tunes do void warranty since you're directly changing the cars system. If you're going to go through a lot of mods on your Mazda then just void the warranty and get the intake and tunes!

The STB helps, but you'll get a much larger handling improvement with a rear sway bar. I have the Tanabe STB with a Progress RSB & the combo works great!
This. Forget the rest, the above is a good place to start.

Maybe the RSB i will get later, for now, i will be getting 10mm wheel spacers, maybe the K&N air filter and the STB.
Wheels spacers can play hell with your steering geometry. The air filter is not really any better than stock. If it flows more its because its filtering less.

You don't need to change anything if you install a K&N intake. The difference in minor if anything and the stock ECU mapping can easily accommodate the change.

Cant void it, im a young car guy, im 18 and since my father is the one who would pay for something if it breaks, ill just add the intake and once the warranty ends, I'll tune it.

That's a myth and not true.. an intake will do no harm. If it does (it wont). Put the factory box back on and see if the issue follows. If it does off to the dealer to have it fixed under warranty! Yay! If the issue doesn't occur with the OEM box. Then the install of the K&N was improper or possibly the filter was over oiled and oil covered the MAF sensor. I have never had an issue with any of the new or used cars I have owned running an intake. Ever. Nadda. None. I have run K&N, Injen and AEM thus far. Love the sound.

I wouldn't count on the intake not needing a tune but everyone takes different risks!
So, what makes you think you need any sort of tune to install a simple CAI or SRI? They are not much different than what came with the car. The only real difference is the sound. Power increases are minimal for the most part, and some intakes can actually cause a hp loss. There is no risk at all associated with an aftermarket intake unless you install it wrong.

There are different types of CAIs and some do need tunes(higher power gains) so depending on his car a tuned CAI could be more efficient.

UMMMM............No. :bash:
There are many different kinds of cold air intakes, but none of them will get you more than a few HP at best. Many get you zero improvement and some make things worse. There are no (none, zero, nada) air intakes outside of a complete forced air intake system (turbo, supercharger) that require a tune.
