I've searched a ton to figure out whether my car was built in Mexico or Japan. I've had people tell me "look for a certain code on the door jamb" and "check the VIN" but I don't seem to have a VIN decoder handy for my car.

Can someone just end this debacle and spoon feed me the way to figure out where my Mazda came from? Don't want to mess up and buy Mexico parts for my Japan vehicle or vice versa :p

Do you still have the window sticker? Your engine and transmission may have been made in Japan while the car was assembled in Mexico (like mine).

You're wasting your time with all of that VIN conversion speak...just check the inside of the fuel filler door for fueling instructions to determine assembly location...100% Agave or Ginjo.

I know mine is made in Japan because I ordered it directly from the factory in Hiroshima and tracked the ship that brought it to San Diego LOL! :D Had a grand total of 2 miles on the odo when I took delivery.
