Under the settings menu in the infortaiment system you check the box to activate the MAZDA CX-5 Smart City Brake Support. then the next sub menu is Far, Med, Near.
Does anyone know what the setting should be for Far, Med, near or what it means
thanks

Sensor sensitivity
Probably explained at some length if you were to look in your manual.

I cannot image how dangerous it is if AEB sensitivity is adjustable. Hence, the Far, Med and Near is actually control how far the SCBS's "BRAKE" warning sign and sound should alert the driver.

Correct. It does not change when the system activates in relation to the object in front of you, but only alerts you by "brake and sound" at the distance you choose, far, medium, near...as clearly explained in the manual.
