I know some people have switched to the 19s from the 6, but has anyone switched to the 17s? 225/55/17 has a lot of speedo error on the 3, but I was wondering if they fit at all and if anyone has used the wheels but swapped out the tires for 225/50?

I'm running my winter tires on the 17s from my old Mazda 6. They fit no problem. If you're considering wheels from the gen3 mazda6, I would check the offset.

Would the offset need to be changed? Better question- If I tried to get 225/45s on my stock 18 would I have to change the offset too? I've never messed with changing tire size before- is this hard to do (changing offset)?

Same as the GT. Yeah, the stock 17s from the first gen 6 fit no problem. 2mm difference in offset, .1 inch difference in total height.

Shock impact over cracks and such would probably improve, I'm sure at the expense of turn in precision.
