My dad had this problem in his 2012. Took it into the dealer, they replaced the track without argument. Just need a good dealer.

That's not the problem, tho. They replaced it with the same part, which will develop the same problem soon enough. At some point, your warranty will run out. Last I looked at pricing on seat track, it was about $300, or more. They actually need to acknowledge and repair the problem, unless they just bide their time until mexican built 2014 comes out with a new part......

Took it to my dealer last week and they are ordering a new seat track. I'll keep an eye on the new parts to see if they get worn.

Hi - I'm new to Mazda and this site. I have a 2013 i GT with the power, heated leather. I did a search because I just noticed that when I push on the floor with my foot, as in when reaching into the back seat or just to stretch, the entire seat will move slightly. The movement is not a lot and it doesn't feel LOOSE, but I can get it to MOVE. I have only about 2900 miles on the car. I've never been able to move any seat before that was properly in position.

Is this what everyone is talking about? Is there a fix out yet, that anyone knows of?

Anyone?

Did you have someone sit in the back and pull on your seat? Usually my friends do that in my car and its annoying. so they can sit up or use it as leverage.

Mine did this from early on and I just ignored it. Also had the squeaking seat but just shot some lube at the joints and the lift mechanism and that stopped the noise. Noticed lately the rocking seems to be getting worse. I think I gotta lay off the McD.

I just picked up my car after they replaced the power seat track assembly (under warranty, but it was close to $1k in parts and labor). The wobbly seat is marginally better, still not rock solid, but I will live with it for now.

Alright, I gave up and asked the dealer to replace the "seat adjuster", which is basically the seat track. I know the problem will come back, but hopefully I might have 2-3 years still.

Got that combined with the #4 mount replacement.

How much did all that work cost you? I my seat problem was fixed for about a month a year ago when I got it worked out, but it seems to get worse and worse. It's so bad now that when I'm driving down the garage at my job, every U turn I make the thing clunks back and forth. How does it feel after they replaced all of those parts?

Feels wonderful too.... for another couple of years..... :(

If you get yours done, make sure they check if the plastic rear rail end plugs come with the new track, or have to be ordered separately. I discovered mine missing on the new track when I vacuumed the car (and moved the seat) some time later.

Right side looks completely different, so don't bother.

Thanks.

So I dropped the car off Wed morning. Friday I had to call because they never bothered to call me up and say it's ready. They didn't do anything because the technician couldn't repeat the problem (that multiple people have complained about in this thread). The tech is even the same guy that fixed it 8 months ago. After driving there and asking the tech to come out, service guy was sent to me instead 5 times saying there's nothing they can do. After refusing to take the car back the tech finally came out.

He said the TSB's were still in and there wasn't any damage to the rail assembly. I should have asked if he put 1 or 2 of those washers in because I know you made a point of that awhile back.

Get this... in the same visit at the beginning, they said "Well none of the other cars have this problem". An hour later they said "This problem is normal for a seat that has a vertical adjustment when you are half way between the bottom most, and upper most setting". Bwahahaha. I told them that this is a make it or break it deal with buying a car for me, and expect it to be fixed. So they have to call the area Mazda General Manager today to see what can be done.

I would laugh if all they need are 2 washer for the TSB instead of 1. Anywho, I'm about to call Mazda Corp in CA and complain too. I've talked to 100 people with other car that have similar seats, and none of them have an issue with free-play at any time! I may ever try calling the dealer you took it to alexb2 to see what they did to determine a new seat track was needed.

The seat still holding up? Haha I have to ask. Thanks again for all your help with this predictament, or at least leading an ear to hear me rant. I really wish I could just come up with a outcome for everyone so the dealers can't act clueless and refuse to fix the problem at hand.

Dealer can't recreate the problem. They refuse to replace the tracks. They said they even had a Mazda specialist come in. Even though it's barely still under warrenty they won't fix, and after I've gone to 3 dealers and complained over the course of 1 1/2 years. FML

I'm not sure if i'm having the same issue or not. I sat in mine this morning and heard a loud pop (maybe the plastic washer?) and now the seat rocks back and fourth starting from the front driver side corner, not side to side like mentioned here.

It actually effects my driving, It's hard to get a smooth push on the clutch when I accelerate and the seat rocks backwards.

I don't really want to take it in to the Stealership, I get $500 back in October if I haven't used my warranty.

There's actually a TSB for the front of the seat my friend = T.S.B. 0906109

I believe that is the TSB they performed 8 months ago, but not even a month later the problem came back. Apparently my issue was a little more serious. I ended up going back to the dealer last week and was able to recreate the sound while driving in their lot. The combination of a fully cranked wheel to the left/right and giving the throttle some juice did the trick! They tried to loosen and tighten some bolts but that didn't help. They ordered a new "Seat Frame Adjuster" which I gather is just the track and that fixed it.

But like alexb2 has said, this issue will most likely come back. Kudos to Mazda.
