Can't say I'm surprised. The engine will be just fine on practically any viscosity. Sure it's designed to work best with the super thin 0w20 but if you're in the middle of nowhere and decide to change your oil, you can pour is a 10w50 if that's the only thing that is available.

I usually stock up on sale items in advance, so I always have one full oil change work waiting in the garage. That way, when oil change time rolls around, i don't have to go around looking for a sale or end up buying a different oil, just because the one I always get wasn't on sale that day.
