I'm looking to change out the License plate lights with some LED's (what size?) but want to go with something that wont burn out in a day.

I also want to try and increase the tail light brightness with some LED's but dont know how bright or what reliable brand.

Im not use to driving a dark colored car and the brighter it is, the safer I will feel.

found these on Diode Dynamics which seem to say resistant to vibrations and electical spikes that seem to kill other cheap LED's.

also looked into the Phillips Vision LED's

Hey! i have switched everything you are talking about, on my '16 i have licence plate LED from Precision Leds

i changed my tail lights to the VLED V6 Triton RED, its on the expensive side but honestly i would buy them again, 3 year warranty, made in the USA and the performance is amazing. since in my opinion stock mazda 3 lights '14 and up are just dim and very small. these are amazing. https://www.vleds.com/shop-products/v6-triton/red/v6-triton-kit-r.html
I can post pictures of the stock lights compared to the V6 Triton. i can do it later since im on my computer at work.

also, i just changed my wifes '08 mazda 3 licence plate light to the one on the VLEDS website and i liked the quality more of that compared to the Precision LED.


personally, for myself i don't buy no name brand LEDS from Ebay or Amazon, if i do buy from these websites they have to be a reputable brand. thats my opinion though.

That means you can do your turn signals, parking lights and brake lights for only $520 plus tax and shipping....if they work for both applications.......

You can do all four headlights, all four signal lights, brake lights and front running lights for less than that if you look around and don't buy over-priced, over rated stuff.

Just get these from JDM Astar. Really bright, and priced more like a light bulb should be. Install them with the proper resistor and they work just as good as any.

Yeah I know! Even though I love the output and the quality. I'm not buying one again, I would go somewhere different like you said much cheaper and same output. Supposedly this has 300 lumens range.

Also dont get me wrong, I love the VLED brand but they are overpriced on some applications.


Also, thanks Arathol for the input... I've done alot with my lights. That's basically what I've done to my car. Nothing major yet since I still own on it.

Do yourself a favor and skip the expensive reverse lights. Sylvania makes a 2 pack of LED mini 7440s that actually fit the reverse light housing and are very bright.

VLEDs are very expensive. JDM Astar has better for less. See links in above posts....

Resistors yes if you want to avoid hyperflash.
Void the warranty, no. Read the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.

In regards to the reverse lights that VLED has to offer I have them in my '16 Mazda 3, they are expensive but I got them on a sale at 50%off. For me they are worth it! Extremely bright.. but I would pay full price. Which right now I believe is 70usd. Ouchie! I have a video here that shows output! Look through my profile.

I have the Sylvania LED in my '08 Mazda 3 but they dont compare to my '16. But both housings are completely different so the light distribution is different.

so i went to see what the site VLED had, they now have another version the V6 Extreme Triton, for $175! thats more than some really good HID systems, i was in total awe of the price. like DAYUUMMM. (couldn't post a pic since im at work and i use dual monitor, cant show private info.)
