I am a fairly new Mazda owner (2014 BM Maxx 6sp sedan), and a techie tinkerer. I'm going to soon look to upgrade the MZD firmware, and possibly try the tweaks. I can find all that info, no problem.

What I can't find from my searches - a way to update the latest AU maps for free (the cost is stupid). The car's 3 years is up, and the previous owner obviously had no technical ability. So the maps version is a bit old.

Is there a way to do this? Thanks

You can only update maps through the online system, so if your 3 years is up, then don't bother. Buy a GPS with free lifetime maps.

If you want to update the MZD, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do it properly.

What version are you on now?

Yeah, I have the instructions etc. I'm a techie, so SHOULD have no problem. It's only on 27. Thanks

If no maps, the I'll do the tweak to get Android Auto

if on 27 then go to 31.00.100A first, then whatever number suits you
Do Gracenote afterwards
FFS - don't let the car go to sleep when you update !!!

I just paid the stupid amount for the maps updates but the crap software doesn't function correctly.
I click backup and it sits and spins and does nothing I click update and get the same "nothing". after a while it times out with a server uncontactable error.
I have tried on 2 windows 10 machines.. (I only have windows 10)
