Hello!
Recently my ’04 2.0L Mazda3 went up against some serious flooding and the knock sensor was damaged/shorted-out via CEL/error code P0328. I have been researching parts online but am a bit confused.
I see there is the knock sensor itself as well as a "connector". Can someone tell me what this function of this connector is? It seems like the knock sensor already has a cable/plug but it looks different from the "connector"?
Does anyone have any insight into the process of replacing the knock sensor in my car? I haven't found any step-by-step instructions or videos, and Chilton's can be cumbersome since I am still learning part names and their locations in my engine.
Parts on RockAuto
Knock Sensor:
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS KS190
Connector:
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS S2047
Apologies, I cannot post links yet.
Thanks SO much for any help sent my way!
Tony
