Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2014 Mazda 3 Sport Nav and one of the keys doesn't work at all (haven't been able to test the other). I have tried replacing the battery without result.

The keyless door system doesn't work and the buttons on the key do nothing. I have to manually unlock the car by removing the key from the fob and place the key near the ignition in order for the car to start.

I've called the Mazda dealership but they told me I need to take it in with both keys, which I don't have at the moment. Have any of you encountered this or know of a solution?

Cheers

Are you sure the new battery is OK (test the voltage) and inserted the right way up?
I'm not sure how to test the voltage, but I bought the same battery as was inside the the key in the first place.

Bring both keys & the car to the dealership. They'll reprogram em for you.
I would, but unfortunately the other key is 300 miles away and I'm on holiday. As soon as I get back I'll be away for business, so I was hoping I could reprogram it myself. Has this been done before?

I have the same problem. My fob stop working for about month .Till I got to Mazda dealer it start work for brief moment and then nothing again. When they checked the fob they said the problem was disabled alarm by pressing the third button on my key fob.
However that is pile of B.S. because it stop working straight after I arrived home from Mazda dealer.
I think there must be deeper issue in car electronics than just fob battery or alarm on/off. BTW my battery is brand new in both fobs.
