What's up everyone. I used to use this forum a lot a while back with my SkyActiv I-Touring. Then I stopped modding after my car got hit and kind of lost touch with the forum.

Now I sold that car and joined the dark side with a 2012 Speed3! Picking it up Monday. Can't wait to learn about it!

:welcome: back, Marsicanok! Sorry to hear about the iTouring, but glad (and a little envious) that you've gotten into a Speed3. Thx for the pic! The white looks fantastic.

Thanks, it's good to be back. This forum helped a lot with my mods in the I Touring and I'm sure it will come in handy with this car. ImageUploadedByAG Free1439568869.922246.jpg ImageUploadedByAG Free1439568887.900534.jpg

I love the white. Already planning the cosmetic mods in my head. Don't even have the car yet and I have about $5k worth of stuff in carts online haha.

The mods are not in order. I know these cars are a bit different with modding because of the high-performance engine and what-not but here we go;

1. Windows getting tinted (Tuesday)
2. Wheels and tires; thinking 18x9 all the way around - need to do research on fitment though because I may lower it in the future. Planning gunmetal, black or white. Still thinking.
3. Turbo-back exhaust; thinking corksport... Love their products. Along with this will go the intake and this is when I'll invest into the COBB AP and upgraded internals and fuel pump as well. gotta do some research on tuning and where is the best place to get it done. Interested in learning to do it myself too but I know it's such an important factor. These mods will probably come before the wheels and tires because the stock rims and tires aren't that bad in my opinion.
4. HIDs are already in the mail from DDM.. Had them in my last car but switched them into my bike when I stopped modding. 6k 35w. Never played with the fog lights so I'm excited for that. I don't know what color yet for those.
5. The car comes with a spare-wheel fitted subwoofer. If that isn't good enough I'll be putting in my Diamond D1 powered by Memphis amp. I forgot the specs to be honest.

This is my first turbo car and I'm excited to learn about it. The mods above are just the obvious ones that I'm pretty sure everyone does to their car but I'm very interested in specific mods and tunes to get the car up in power but that will come with knowledge and time.

Sounds like you have a good plan.

I'm running 18x9 +36, lowered in KWV3 coils. I've rolled and slightly pulled the rears. It rubs in the rear and front when I hit dips or quick rises on the freeway. People in the back seat make it rub sometimes too.

Welcome! CWP FTW! This site is awesome. Read first, ask questions later. Get an AP and RMM first or a SRI w/TIP. Have fun!

Thanks everyone. Good to see some familiar names! All mods to come with time!

I may resort to some plasti-dip for the wheels till I build my banks back up

I'm not sure what your goals are for power, but here's basically what I have learned. Your factory TBE flows efficient enough that you should prioritize that further down the list IMHO. Your factory rear pump is good, but the first mod I would buy is a corksport HPFP (auto tech makes one too, corksport quality is top shelf). Second, Short ram intake (I love my Cobb SF). There are cars running lean on just a damn intake (zoom-zoom-boom). At least with the pump internals, all you have to worry about is it running rich.

Intake/down pipe/boost tube and a good tune should get you close to 300 hp. A lot of guys start burning corn (e85) for extra power. That doesn't appeal to me really. I like 93 octane. My car came with a hypertech. It's an ok tuner. Removes the 1st-2nd gear boost limiter, but other than that, it's limited. It relays on your ecu to learn the parameters of the changes you make. And that's not efficient. The Cobb accessport has some good off the shelf (ots) tunes, but the best tune is a tune on a dyno, built to the parts on the vehicle. I upgraded my intercooler to a corksport TMIC. Huge difference in top end torque (untuned).

So you can easily see 300whp/330-375 ft/lbs with a straight up bolt-on car with a great tune, Still get good fuel economy, and be reliable as stock. And you will spank 85-90% of what you come across on the streets of Mexico :smile2:

My laundry list of kills gets bigger every week with mods in my sig. After my visit to Cobb next week, I plan on increasing my percentage. That's just my .02. 100 people will disagree with me and say there's a better way, but we all do our own thing.

Once you get the power you want, upgrade your exhaust (if legal) for the sound. I think the stock sounds pretty sweet, and I know a couple of guys still running stock cat back with a race pipe making 300+.

But hey, what do I know. I'm just a Speed3 owner. 0:)

Talking to some guys about it, I think I'll do the intake first. As for the exhaust, may just leave the stock cat-back as you said and either go with the long downpipe from corksport or the downpipe and test pipe. That's a bit away though... Money problems.

Got my windows done today though. 20%all around

All mods are put on hold :(
Hit a large rock in the road with the front right tire; blew the tire, damaged the rear right tire and took a nice big chip out of the rim. My mod money had gone to new tires and a new rim.

New plans...

Plasi-Dip the rims white and gloss.
Resonator/muffler delete possibly followed by a the other part being deleted (I've done some looking and like the sound of both deleted, but also like the sound of just the resonator being deleted so we'll see how it goes).
H&R Coilovers

All this should be done by the time the winter comes.

Just an update on "progress"...

Muffler Delete
CS SRI + TIP
JBR 88 RMM
CS TP on the way!
H&R Coilovers being installed this week
4 New Continental DWS06
Stock Rims dipped black.
20% Tint all around
2 Memphis 12" Subs with Memphis Mono-Block Amp (250rms)

Once the test pipe is in, the winter is being used to save for an AP so I can finally start building real power.

The intake was the best mod for me, did all the other supporting modes (AP, RMM, Internals) but that intake sound after 3k RPM is so satisfying.
