The JBarone SSP was very easy to install, I have not installed the metal bushings which is part of the Stage II kit yet since that required me to mess with the interior trim pieces. I would have if I had to adjust the shift linkage but as luck would have it, I am able to run through the gears pretty smoothly. I put about 120 miles on the car today and I am enjoying the car even more with the JB SSP installed, love the short throw and shifts did not feel any heavier than stock as others have said. This transmission feels much better than the BMW 335i's 6SPD. Shifts are much more precise and direct, not rubbery like the Bimmer's. I mastered heel/toeing that Bimmer on the Nurburgring but I was never able to do it very well in normal driving, don't remember if it was the brake pedal or the gas. With this MS3, I can heel/ toe anytime I want effortlessly. Makes me want to go drive it now.....

So I've had this shift plate installed for months now and I finally got around to fine tuning it. Wish I would have done it sooner, the shifter moves into and out of gear so much smoother now. It was not bad before, and quite good to the point I was afraid to screw it up. Now though, it is silky smooth, I can move it into gear without touching the clutch which would bind up sometimes before. Jamiesplanet.com. I have not driven it yet, but I'm sure it will make it even more enjoyable to drive!

Fine tuning the shifter really helps. I think this would be useful even for those without a SSP installed. I say this because gear engagements are much smoother than when it was stock. I suspect maybe it wasn't tuned very well right off the assembly line. I used to get a clunk when dropping from 3rd to 2nd, rev matched, any speed and now it drops into 2nd smooth (almost shockingly smooth). I might hold off switching out transmission fluid now as I thought that was the cause of the clunking (I have the magic Ford transmission fluid in my garage).
