I guess you're not really installing it though. Just Mounting.
If you found a way to completely replace the head unit / factory GPS with a tablet now that would be something to see.
Otherwise it's kind of the equivalent to a iPhone or Droid connected via BT. You just have a larger screen with a tablet.

Or there's this http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio/AppRadio+(SPH-DA01)

My cousin is pushing me to replacing it but the transmitter alone would cost around 250 i belive. While it would be unique I would lose all my functions like the Bluetooth, which I use offen.

Theres a youtube channel where they specialize in Ipad installs in cars it looks like a big fuss.
Later on im planing on acutally doing that and installing a single din in the glove compartment so i would still be able to use my steering wheel functions for the volume, instead of installing a volume control.

But why. It's nothing more than an iPhone transmitting via BT or a iPod connected via the iPod integration kit. And that in the video didn't replace the full head unit did it?
IMO-not worth the money to make it work.
they have more where they replace the whole unit but thats roughly how i want to get it

nothing to permanent
