So, I couldn't really find a straight answer on the internet when I was trying to find out if the car would download emails from a new Sony Xperia Z3 or Z3 compact, so in case you were wondering: it can*

*The only hassle is that you have to use the native email app; it doesn't work via gmails app. The function is quite nice, and the email is quick to scroll through.
