Has anyone with a North America car updated the infotainment from 59.00.502 to 59.00.504? If so, are there any changes or fixes that you have noticed?

Being such a small numerical increase, I assume it's only tiny code changes, but one can always hope that there is a bug-fix or two (like the remaining USB music re-starts and shuffle glitches :argh:)

Not likely... I've had that issue since V15 and there have been huge jumps since then. Everything overall has gotten better, but USB music starting over from the beginning or doing the same exact shuffle order has been there forever.

On V55.5XX now and gave up waiting. Went the Android Auto mod route so there's a new set of worms to contend with and the audio quality isn't as good as USB music in the community's latest AA update, but they've been doing a great job.

I've been having the music problems too. Mazda corporate said they aren't terribly concerned with the USB music problems i experience and said I should get used to Bluetooth. Odd for a car company, but I guess there ain't dollars in fixing something like that.

So I went ahead and updated from 502 to 504 a couple of days ago. The shuffle does seem to be working a lot better. It's doing a good job of picking songs through my entire USB library, rather than just in a small subset like before. I haven't noticed any other changes or fixes. Hopefully the good behavior continues.

I live in EU, so I have to wait for a new firmware update. Did you notice a speed increase in switching between songs and in scrolling music libraries? With 502EU it is much worse than previous firmwares

I have been on the update for a week now. The USB resume bugs are still there. The shuffle still seems to get stuck going in order. It does seem a bit better and a bit more responsive, but honestly that could just be placebo. I would rule this update as simply a compatibility update for new models. Mazda has gotten in the habit recently of doing a big update in the summer and not much else. I didn't expect this update. I am expecting a V60 or something update this summer. Hopefully with new features, but at the very least I'll take some bug fixes.

59.00.532 is not better in shuffling at all, if anyone cares.
Not sure based on which version it was built - 502 or 504... Just saying. :)

I wish to partially retract my statement about shuffle. I couple of nights ago it would only play songs that started with "W." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I skipped through a few songs and then it started shuffling correctly again. This is still an improvement and it's doing what I want it to do most of the time. I haven't had restart problems or noticed any other changes. Responsiveness is normal.

I understand that the upgrade from 502 to 504 is a very minor one (only took 15 mins today and...while my oil was changed).
Improvement (as per my workshop) : upgrade of the camera recognition-system in the windshield.
Any other inputs please?

That is pathetic. USB is an option the system is equipped with and is advertised. Doesn't matter if they like it or not.

I use a USB drive because I find that Bluetooth barely works. I get far more functionality for browsing my music with USB.

Last time I tried USB it couldn't sort out my music from system files and made it a nightmare to sort through.

My current phone (and I assume many others) only allow for skipping tracks and not browsing, so that's useless as I'd have to look at my phone to choose a new album. Also my phone has no problems with my huge collection of music, so I keep it all on there. On my old (now broken) phone, which did allow for Bluetooth browsing, it didn't work because the collection was too big for the car to handle and it timed out. The car can handle the larger collection via USB, so USB is important. (Also I can keep a separate, slimmed down collection on a different USB stick if so desired, but I can't be swapping things in and out of my phone just to appease the car.)

I really fail to see how they can have so many problems with it. I'd fix all the damn problems if I had the source. It can't be that hard.

I'm using a nexus 6p running with Android 8.1 and I have no issues browsing my phone through the Bluetooth option. on the Music screen with bluetooth selected, I get the option to browse and select the albums playing on my phone. The only caveat I've found for the phone to be browsable is that the Google Play Music app is the app you use to play music. When this app is open on your phone, the phone's storage drive becomes readable over bluetooth. As such my 30 gigs of music that I have for on the go on my phone is browsable by album, artist, genre and playlist and playable. As well, the scroll ability is not the fastest but if you go at a reasonable speed the phone can keep up with the scroll command and it doesn't look like it's skipping trying to maintain the data rate from phone to the car.

Hello,

I am currently using 59.00.504 North America version. I downloaded Android Auto to USB drive and tried several times to install it in car. It is not working. I really want to try Android Auto. Any solution to troubleshoot? Do I need to go back to the default version to install android auto? Please let me know.

Thank You
