So I got some dash cleaner behind the plastic cover over the information display. Any tips on getting this cover off so I can clean it? Is it possible. Driving me absolutely crazy. Any help please.

its clipped to the rubbery dash part, get a trim removal tool like this: http://images.esellerpro.com/2133/I/411/1/trim clip tool.JPG and gently pry on the rubber part above the screen and the clear plastic cover will pop out, then you can clean and reinstall. just a word of warning, the shape of the dash around that screen makes getting everything back together nearly impossible once its come apart. its a common issue that mine has where the clips around that screen fail and the rubbery dash part pops up slightly, you cant tell on mine just as a casual observer, hell I could not even tell mine had the issue until I reached up there and touched it, so just fair warning.

or you can try with a paper towel wrapped butter knife, though the trim tool pry's better

That pulled the whole plate off. I was hoping just the clear piece over the display could be popped off so I could clean it. Knew it couldn't be easy

unfortunately no its not easy to get behind the individual screens to clean them, they are glued together. suppose you could use a very small flat blade and carefully pry open the screen and clean it, but you may damage the Display so be very careful if you attempt this, these displays are not meant to be pushed on super hard.

Sorry that this happened to you @Uscs04 and hope you figure out a fix soon and cheaply.

It will hopefully have a positive side in that all will learn from this, that when cleaning any part of the insides of our cars, we need to spray/apply all liquids directly and only onto a microfiber, insure that they are fully absorbed on that MF (no visible liquid present), and then only put the MF on the interior parts of the car.

Again, we all wish for a simple/positive fix to this.
