Ok, Recently I purchased a rear lower strut brace and went to install it the other day and to my surprise, it doesn't fit (even though my 2010 Hatch) was listed as a compatible vehicle. There is what appears to be a steel weight mounted on the rear crossmember right between the frame and the fuel tank. There were only two bolts holding it on and I removed it.

My question is what is this, what is for and could it be safely removed for installation of the rear lower strut bar?

Thanks in advance.

Tom

Its called a dynamic damper its used to reduce NVH. It is safe to remove. You may notice increased road noise transmitted to the cabin...

Thanks jackf. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. :)

I figured that someone would know what it is and what it's for.

Much Appreciated!
