I have a 2007 mazda 3, which I am looking to install an aftermarket stereo into. My preferred swc adapter is the idatalink maestro rr which would be connected to a pioneer had unit. The manufacturers website says it will work for my car, but Crutchfield says that it won't.

Does anyone have one one? What is your experience with it?

Thank you
Charles

Well, I did not recieve a reply to this, so I decided to take the plunge and give it a try. I installed a Pioneer avh-1300nex along with the iDatalink Maestro RR. I installed it, and it is working perfectly. Steering wheel controls work great, and you can program dual functions for each button. The obd2 function works great as well (picture of guage display attached).

The only issue that I am having is that my stereo reception is much poorer than the factory stereo. If anyone had any suggestions to improve this, I would love to hear it.

Unfortunately this does nothing to preserve the oem display. You can view some of the information that was on the display through the guages screen on the stereo, but not all of it.

Why would you want to display on the crusty old oem orange lcd? 😂 😂
Thankyou for sharing this chuck25 I'm hoping this is the option to keep the features lost when upgrading stock head unit from Mazda 3 bk, mine is a series 1 but still sounds like you get the old oem display information and more on your upgraded head unit now with the Maestro I data-link? I really hope so cos I'm so getting one if so 😍 👌
