Hi,

I would like to know your opinions regarding: how well does paint stick to chrome?

The reason I'm asking is because I finally went to the dealership and I'm getting rid of the chrome wing accent in the front of my car.

The car body sprayer manager at the dealeship advised that I should take into consideration that the paint in the chrome might peel in the future as it does not stick so well.

Having many members who have painted (not plastic dip) their chrome parts, what would be your opinion about this subject? Does it stick or last?

Thanks!

David

I know you're already done with the job, but just add, I'm told getting a tub of bleach and soaking the parts overnight will strip the chrome off of them. Obviously you'd need to take the parts off, but for anyone with that option, I'd recommend going that route. From there it's easy prime and paint

Nicely done! I debated between paint & wrap when I blackmouthed BlackMouth. Knew paint on chrome will risk chipping w/o proper prep that makes the mod irreversible. I went the reversible wrap route to avoid sanding. It also provides the protection bonus. If boredom or the full circle urge should visit, wrap is way easier to remove.
