I did this to my 2013 Skyactiv hatch without fogs or auto lights. Vehicles with auto lights and/or foglights already installed should work the same with this mod but experiment at your own risk.

Step 1: Install foglights according to instructions provided with kit

I didnt take pics so Ill borrow a thread to show what I mean. Shout out to fellow member rope612 for the good pics.

Step 2: Follow his steps up until the third. Once you see the BCM, disconnect the top grey connector and look for the green wire.
Step 3: Cut the green wire about 2 inches from the connector and butt connect a piece of similar sized wire about a foot long to the end of the wire thats left sticking out of the harness(NOT the end that goes to the BCM)
Step 4: Look under the dash and find the spot thats circled in red in the pic below. Remove the bolt(10mm head) holding down that ground wire and find a ring terminal connector that will fit that bolt. Crimp that terminal onto the end of the wire previously connected to the green wire and bolt it down along with the factory ground wire.
Step 5: Make sure your added wire is out of the way of any moving parts, double check crimps and make sure to reconnect the BCM connector if you hadnt already done so. Put your trim back together and try out your lights. The foglights should now turn on with parking lamps and remain on with the headlamps.

The only downside to this mod is that the foglights will always be on when you turn on the parking lamps and also they will not turn off when the high beams are switched on. Neither of those are a problem to me but they could be fixed by adding a switch on the green/ground wire to turn off the fogs

Hopefully you guys get something out of this very poorly done how-to lol

I just got this car a few weeks ago and want to do a fog light add-on.

Got a question about the different fitments/output of light.

Do the 2013s get the round fogs as opposed to the 2010-12 which get the rectangular ones?

Are these interchangeable at all or are the front bumpers different?

What are the opinions on the light output between the round and rectangle ones?

Thanks

13's are round

Bumpers are the same between 10,11,12 and then the 13 is a different bumper. The speed3 bumper is the same all 4 years and it is round.

As far as I know all applications of the fog lamps ( rectangular or round) do an astounding job of sucking balls.
I put in corksport DRLs in my fogs and angled them up, it's slightly better.

I noticed on CS that they sell an LED conversion and apparently people also do the h11-h9 conversion.

Is that actually better for visibility or more for just the JDM-YO aesthetic?
Is that for the headlights? Or fogs? Because what I have is their DRL LED that you take your fog bulb
Out and replace it with the led in a similar connector, no "traditional" conversion involved.

There's an orange wire in the bottom BCM connector. You de-pin (as appose to cutting the wires) these two, then you can use a butt, crimp connector and a piece of shrink-tubing to connect them to each other. What you have then done is bypassed the BCM. The fogs will now work with the switch as normal, any time the parking lights are on (parking, low, high beams). You can shut them and you won't accidentally leave them on because they go off with the parking lights.

Your link doesnt work.

I think youre describing exactly what grounding that green wire does lol. The only down side to this is that the fogs are always on with the parking and headlights but that could be fixed with putting a switch on that ground. I dont mind them being on all the time though
