Well that was a lot of fail. At least he admits in text that the torx bit is incorrect. Mazda also revised that piece of crap to a hex head plug. Worth getting if you don't want to install the fumoto.
Why would you glaze over jacking a car up like that with a basic video like oil change? If you're watching it you're probably a novice and don't know how to jack it up safely.
Ramps are fast and safe, but I'd hardly call them safer than jacks. Both can go terribly wrong if not used correctly. Ramps are easier to use, nothing more.
Why would you remove an oil filter by hand? This just blows my mind. You're trying to teach someone new to change oil and you teach to remove by hand?? Filters get stuck! A good filter wrench is a cheap investment.
Looked at the filter flange, but didn't say why. The gasket can detach from the filter and get stuck there. Two gaskets = oil leak.
No mention of torque. People new to this will have no idea how much to tighten that drain plug. The old socket plug he shows is prone to stripping in a bad way. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
Not to mention he didn't show reinstalling the drain plug. Best to make these critical steps very plain as day to the novice.
Pile of fail.
