Got my caliper paint and am in process of painting right meow (2 calipers are curing at the moment). When I jacked up the front right side I guess I positioned it too close to the wheel and the metal there bent a little bit.

Soon after I went to do the front left side after having the entire right side on jacks but pussied out because I didn't want something to happen with car on on nothing but jacks. Well, I had already positioned the jack stand near the car and when I lowered the jack back down the edge of the stand caught the side skirt and made a nice little chip/ding.

2 fuck ups on one go of it. I should not be allowed around tools. I'll post pics later. And I'm really dizzy from applying that paint in the garage.

Sorry, I know this is a bad time for this, but I was laughing my ass of after reading this sentence. That bit in Super Troopers had me howling when I saw it. Thanks for the memory trip.
On a more serious note, sorry to hear about your misfortune with the ride. On my last car I was in the process of lowering it and unbolted both front struts to speed the assembly along. Unfortunately, this caused the longer half shaft to deteach from the engine and fall out on the ground . After my mini stroke, everything worked out okay. So, don't be too hard on yourself, it comes with the teritory of not being able to leave things alone.
