This might be a stupid question, but I'm wondering how I can tell I have the 2.5L engine. I just bought a 2015 s Touring which has a 2.5L. I can't see anywhere in or around the car that lets me know I have the 2.5L and not the 2.0L.

If you can overtake a Camry on a highway on-ramp, then you have a 2.5

Either that, or I was behind a de-badged V6 Camry today...

Perhaps tachometer's redline could tell. I have a 2.0L engine and my redline starts at 6,500. If you have the 2.5L then you'd probably see your redline at 6,000 rpm. Unfortunately there are no badges around the car that tells you the engine size like a 2.0 or 2.5 badge.

2.0l redline is 6,800 rpm

2.5l redline is 6,500 rpm

The 2.5L engine weighs more than the 2.0L engines.

My 2.5L grand touring says it weighs 4,001 lb or 1,815 kg on the door jam sticker. I also checked on Kelly Blue Book and the curb weight for my car is recorded at 3,046 lbs., where as the 2.0L manual sport model has a curb weight of 2,875 lbs.

Check your door jam sticker and see what your GVW is. The higher the number, the more likely you will have a 2.5L.

You can also look at the emissions sticker on the under side of the hood. This sticker should inform you of the engine displacement.

It should look something like this:

If it drives pretty much effortlessly, it's the 2.5. That's the way our 2.5 is compared to our 2.0 MX-5. I call the 2016 sGT the Beamer; whereas, the 2013 MX-5 GT is more like our old Benz. They both have about the same #/bhp, but the MX-5 definitely needs to be stirred more.

Hmm. I'll have to look underneath my hood. Don't think ours has that sticker there.
