I'm looking to purchase a used 2014 Mazda 3 sedan @80,000kms and found out the rust situation on the brakes look pretty bad. I'm not technical enough to understand how bad this is or whether some of it is just expected wear and tear from a 5 year old car. I'm in a city with harsh winters and lots of salt on the roads if that makes any difference at all. Does any of this pose a serious safety concern? How costly would it be to fix if I were to purchase this car? Any recommendations/suggestions are welcome as I'm not super savvy with vehicles as most of you here. looks like surface rust on the caliper, shouldn't be an issue. I would replace the rotors though and lube the slide pins on the caliper.
