Just bought a brand new 2016 i touring and am very happy with it except for one issue. When accelerating and decelerating there is a high pitched whining noise. As I accelerate the noise gets higher and as i decelerate the noise gets lower (think bomb dropping sound effect -- this youtube before the explosion sound is actually a pretty good example of what it sounds like decelerating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLvV4NegF0o). It's a pretty quiet sound and some people haven't been able to hear it but it is bothering me.

I know it's not the dealer plates whistling in the wind. I haven't felt any vibrations associated with the sound.

x-posting from http://mazda3revolution.com/forums/...nce/121690-high-pitched-whine-new-2016-a.html because I don't know if it's an engine issue.

It could be something stuck in one of the brakes and scratching at the rotor, so you could try checking if there is anything lodged there. I can't think of anything else that would cause that besides maybe a belt in the engine bay but I highly doubt that being such a new car.

My friend had a similar issue in a VW bug it was the brake booster. But definitely just take it to the dealership and let them take care of it. Take advantage of the warranty while you can.
