Message the user @ASH8 in a PRIVATE MESSAGE and supply the information as requested in the link below (including a screenshot of your current firmware version). If you are a NEW USER in the forum you will have to post a response to any thread before you can qualify to send a private message.
You may first need the hardware update. I have the same year of car and I had the new hardware installed at my first service. I assume that if it’s done by a Mazda dealer, they will update the software at the same time.
i guess you might be able to find the hardware to install yourself in which case @ash8 is perfectly placed to help with the software.
Not sure if there’s a prerequisite software version for installation of the hardware. As noted, I just asked them for the hardware and they did software at the same time.
They did another software update a couple of years later, and I did the one from @ASH8 a couple of months ago - I believe that’s the final one for this model.
As hardware updated, there’s Bluetooth connectivity to the phone for audio and phone functions, but as far as I can see only usb for the CarPlay menu functions.
There is. If you install the hardware before having at least the 70.x.x.x update, it will be non-functional with the old software.
As for wireless AA/CP, that's only available with chinese unofficial versions of the hardware, and is essentially a wireless stick, just soldered directly into the case of the module.
