There is a setting for the headunit that makes the maps black at night and dims the screen. I set it to auto and it is not changing to night mode. I already reflashed the headunit (stupidly to the latest FW - now I cant mod), and the problem is still there.

Any ideas?

Perhaps the right brighness dial on the instrument cluster is set all the way to bright, turn it anti-clockwise and then turn ON the headlights, this should fix the issue.

Turn the lights on first, then rotate the dial one click to the left.

I never touch that button and overlooked the brightness function. Thank you both. Dummy mechanic turned it all the way up instead of turning the headlights off.

Very annoying. Happy to have that working again!
