I'm mounting my radar detector to the mirror and trying to run power down from the map lights, but as far as I can tell with my voltmeter, all the wires except for the green one and the purple one are hot all the time, whether the car is on or off.

Any help on which wire to splice into so that it turns off when the car is off? Thanks!

Relevant information below:
2012 Mazda3 skyactive

See attached pics of the wires from my map light compartment. The purple one is never hot, and the green one in the second pic is also never hot. From left to right, the pink wires are pink/black, then pink/blue, green, then solid pink, then pink/black.

I purchased a similar kit to this off ebay Amazon.com: Escort Direct Wire Power Cord for Radar and Laser Detectors: Car Electronics

Great, I haven't had the time to attempt this yet so thank you very much for the advice. Will have the shop tap into the fuse box then so I don't have to mess with the pillar and airbag and clips myself. Thanks again
