Hey Everyone,

Just replaced my iPhone 6 with a Google Pixel 32GB. So far I have been unable to get the Pixel to connect to the Mazda over USB. Anyone have any thoughts as to why this is? I'll post later with the CMU version info and such.

2014 Mazda3 S GT

Thanks!!

I've tried it with debugging mode on and off and have tried the various USB connection types with no luck. Using MTP at least allows the phone to show up as a USB device ("unknown MTP") but that is as far as I have gotten.

I have a Google Pixel and a 2016 Mazda3. I've never actually connected my phone to the car by USB before - what exactly are you trying to do (I assume it's to place music or something, but I don't actually know what can be done)? I can try it for you and see if it works.

Another frustrating thing I saw when I had switched to the Pixel (I ended up going back to iPhone) was that voice to text would only work over the mic/speakers if I was actually playing audio from the phone but not if I was listening to the radio. On iPhone it will work from any source.

OP, Did you look to see if the Pixel is a supported or compatible phone with Mazda Connect, before you bought it?

Not all phones models are, or some features wont work, and as Pixel is new and released after Connect Firmware V59 then there are obviously going to be issues.
What firmware version are you running now in your Mazda?

This will continue to occur when all new phones are made and released with changed firmware and features.
Every car maker has these issues, they are all playing catch up and always will.

The Pixel is not even listed in the Mazda Connect Phone Compatibility link.....yet.
