Hi,
I'm asked by friend to put some music on his sdcard so he can play it in his mazda3. I wonder which formats are supported, only lossy MP3, or I can copy lossless like WAV, FLAC, APE, ALAC or even hi-res 24/192 flac?

I think you will find that the SD Card is only for navigation, not for Audio. It does not show up in the Audio selection menu.
For music you need to use a USB drive.
